If you ever have the chance, I’d love to see this compared to the purple cream pro v3 or the lavender. they seem like lighter versions of these switches?
There are now dongles such as Creative BT-W6 dongle that support bluetooth LE audio and LC3!
I’d be absolutely super excited to see a review of the technology and maybe have it added to the tests? LC3/LC3+ promise low latency audio.
I wish you had an air filtration rate at certain DB available.
I don’t personally care if an air purifier filters air faster if it’s 70db.
you do mention the noise at different fan speeds but not the filtration rates
I had a question about the Spectral Power Distribution (SPD) part.
Doesn’t the very defined distribution mean that QD-OLED in theory won’t be able to produce proper whites? As it can’t produce the sections in-between.
I had annoying flickering with this unit during day to day use (browsing and working) but it was amazing otherwise. decided to return it and wait for a new gen :\
Hi, Thank you for the review! I had a question,
how come the real scene brightness is so much lower than say the c2 when all the window sizes are brighter than the c2?
Judging from the brightness at different window sizes, I was expecting it to be brighter than the C2, but it’s actually dimmer.
Wow what a disappointing result… I was really hyped for this.
well I hope that the LG C4 will be reviewed soon, tho by the time it is my return peroid ends so I’m just gonna not risk it and swap my pg32ucdm for a c4 as this monitor I had high hopes for is bad, better brightness than the PG32ucdm still, but not enough to justify the downsides.
I’m confused about how the real scene is darker than the LG C2 when every brightness level is brighter.
The 42" C3 was almost identical to the 42" C2, to my knowledge, so not testing it was no great loss. I’ve heard that they boosted the brightness for the 42" C4 though, so I’m curious to see how it performs relative to the actual WOLED monitors.
a brightness boost is a huge deal. I’m only here to see the HDR performance!
I wish you guys tested the real scene brightness with various scene. like a bright snowy day or boulder’s gate, and a dimmer type of scene like you do with TVs!
I bought one and I really regret it. I’m probably going to return it and wait a bit longer as much as it breaks my heart. or get an LG 42" tv or the 32" ones after Rtings reviews them.
I’d advice waiting for something better.
it’s fine for SDR use, but lets face it you don’t drop 2000CAD on a monitor for generic SDR use,
the HDR brightness is really awful. a lot of daylight scenes look just meh on it. It’s not bad don’t get me wrong. but it’s just meh. and if I want a meh experience I’d get an IPS. the issue is the aggressive ABL. the 5-25% range is very dim.
the black levels which are the other left advantage of OLEDs get ruined in anything but a pitch black room. Honestly I’d recommend a good IPS and specially a MINI led over this. a Mini LED will CRUSH this thing in HDR. my macbook pro 14" mini led has better black levels and contrast in most scenarios.
Hi Schmidt89,
First of all, thanks for taking the time to write such detailed feedback on the way we currently assess and score reflections on TVs and its impact on our current QD-OLED TV reviews.
You’re correct that with our current scoring scheme, QD-OLEDs having visually raised black levels when viewed in a bright room isn’t accounted for in the final score. The main reason for this is that although we quantify the light coming off the screen, we don’t qualify it, so there’s definitely room for improvement on our end. Our testing and writing team make sure that the information is available in the review text, but ideally the score would account for it as well.
It’s a similar story on some other Samsung TVs which have a rainbow-like effect when dealing with reflections, although they perform well in terms of numbers, the actual experience can be bothersome. Just like it can be bothersome that QD-OLEDs almost look as if they’re “on” when they’re in standby in a bright room.
The truth is that updating your testing methodologies isn’t as flexible as we’d like it to be in instances like this, mainly because there are safeguards in place to ensure that changes do not result in unexpected inconsistencies among other products.
I expect us to take a close look at how we can make the reflection test more representative of QD-OLED performance in bright rooms since we expect more and more TVs and monitors will be sporting such panels in the future.
Thanks again and don’t hesitate if you have any other suggestions or feedback for us!
Regards
Maybe you could have a small section under the existing contrast section that’s like : Contrast Ratio in average office lighting or with X Lumens
Are the black levels any better than gen 1 QD-OLED like on the ultrawide OLED? it’s the biggest thing keeping me away from QD-OLED, because to me, without a dark room IPS panels look better.
This headphone is incredibly comfortable and looks so insanely good! I’d love a review on it. I only tried it briefly and loved the sound quality, I’d love to see it compared to other headphones.
I’d be curious about the chinese HY300pro or the magicube projectors. for 60CAD. I’m curious how bad they are. They cost as much as two meals in here.

Become an Insideroh i’m comparing it with DTM off as that ruins the accuracy of the image.
I’d love to see a comparison of dual hose portable units and single hose units!!!
It’d be nice to also see test results in HGIG mode on game optimizer as that’s how a lot of people play games or watch content on a PC/Console.
for me HGIG on game optimizer is brighter and better than Filmmaker mode.

I also am curious about baby kangooroos and bobas

I’m surprised that you guys recommend this monitor despite its eotf issues over the others.
Also MSI released a firmware update today making it far more superior to the other models, definitely worth a look.

I also wish the EOTF tracking test were done at multiple different APL levels instead of just (I assume) the 10%.
Oof not available in Canada. :C

Real Scene brightness, calibration, EOTF tracking is inaccurate and if I’m not right the color volume is far worse than the LG C2 42"
the matte coating is a minor issue for me and a preference, but I do wish it was glossy too. but mainly upset with the other stuff I mentioned

is this on the latest firmware?
Yes I have.
I’d love an eventual 42" vs 48" comparison for monitor use. I may go with 48" if it’s brighter!
