usually there are some settings on a review for calibration etc but there are none on here. Any chance you could add some settings and calibrations?
Ive just purhcased based on your review.
If you have a chromecast, any chance you could try and get disney 4k hdr? I cant get hdr on disneyplus at all.
Thanks
Id love to see photos of the screens in different conditions outside to show the colours and brightness. Say 4pm 8pm 10pm for example to get a proper ideas how they look.
Hey Jake had a see of your updates, ive got a 6800xt
You said this “We did the testing with a PC with an NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics card, and the brightness is the same even with an AMD RX 6600 XT graphics card, but you don’t need to enable Console Mode and Source Tone Map for the highest brightness.”
Tone mapping doesnt give an option on the 6800xt are you saying we dont need to enable console mode as well as amd prosync does it anyway?
Hey dude! I seem to frequent here way too much. I’ll be offered a job soon😂😂
This is way more head purchase than heart unlike the tvs 🤣🤣
I’ve read over so many of the reviews and I end up going round and round. Of course I want the LG 950 but I really can’t justify that cost for this purchase I’m neither good at gaming or a designer. I’m only changing for my back and shoulders to just be comfortable.
But I still want the quality.
I worry about the VA panels I know they aren’t as bad as they used to be, my Sony tv is fantastic but I really can’t check any screens out locally to see what’s what.
I’ve got a mmm q80t in the games room office the latest update has taken a fair amount of the microstutter away.
I won’t be gaming on this set. I have the q80t for that.
This is just for sports and movies really and usual TV rubbish.
I’ve sen some good stuff on the 80j and the c1 but they aren’t quite as bright as the g1 or the 90.
I want some good colours that pop and look realistic, this is just about performance and picture. The apps the gaming none of that is important
Although I hate the idea of not having DV Olathe fact I wear glasses I’m considering a Samsung. The screens are matte and they help with less glare with the scratches.
We use the tv for all viewing lots of sports, 4K films from the oppo.
We have Disney, Amazon, Netflix, wwe. Rooms quite well let but there’s no real light reflection on the tv as it’s on the other wall away and recessed in.
After using the Sony for a few weeks I have to say that the Colours really do pop. It’s true it doesn’t quite get bright enough to show off the hdr as I’d like but that as the issue with all 43 and under. The blacks are great in the film, the bars at the top and bottom for other ratios struggle a little but it’s edge lit so that’s going to be an issue for all.
All in all its a mega expensive 43 but it blows all other tvs in this size out the water and I’m pleased with it
Managed to get them out in the end! Needed a knife in a towel to stop it marking to pull them out! Wouldn’t budge!
Anyways the TV seems good so far, it’s a little different to the x85j it doesn’t have the netflix calibration I think you called it in the article.
Does have DV both bright and dark. A host of motion controls of which I’ve not tried as I wanted to make sure it worked.
The viewing angles are not that great but as expected.
Reflection handling isn’t bad, I mean it’s not a cheap TV by any means.
Brightness of hdr isn’t like the oled but it’s better than its replacement of the qled 60t.
I will report back more once it’s in its room and set up with the cable box and sound bar. But I’m about two weeks from that! (like anyone cares but still)
Ok tv is here I wanted to set it up. So I have done but I need to Reboznit while I decorate. Now the feet are stuck. Could someone your end have a try taking the feet off the Sony x85j please
Took the plunge on the 43 x89j waiting for it to come out and be shipped to me. But hopefully within a week. I’ll of course come back and update and I’ll see how the settings for the x85j work on it too.
if its pants its on you :D
If hdr is not important then they will all do well for you
I had the 50” Samsung and it’s a lovely set, picture can be natural if set up correctly but hdr does not pop
Will do! This is only a bedroom tv. Although I need a new lounge tv, based in the UK think lg for affordability on oled maybe my best option. Could you chat to the wife though to persuade her for me 😂😂😂😂😂
I’m using this for sports it’s pretty damn good to be honest

Yeah they seem to be regional, are you guys testing the a7g any time soon?
Yeah hisense 8g is good too Vizio M Step the budget and go for the 55 Samsung 80 or the Sony xh95 good bets too
Any idea what size?

Have you guys got the 43A7GQTUK hisense review coming soon? Wonder if it was any better than the old 6G

Awesome great replies and thanks for the information. The x85j is impossible to find here only the x80j and the x89j.
Dissapointed with the lack or tvs in the range that are actually any good. But that’s a gripe for me and my tiny space to deal with 😂😂😂
x89j Motionflow™ XR 1000/1200Hz (Native 100/120Hz), Auto mode x85j Motionflow™ XR 800/960Hz (Native 100/120Hz), Auto mode
Only difference i can see on paper between the two tvs
You tested the 55" not the 43". I’d doubt they performed the same based on previous tvs and smaller tvs
