Hey! Like you said, using Game Motion Plus really comes down to personal preference. The setting doesn’t have any huge negatives, but it does add some input lag, and if you use it too aggressively, it will introduce artifacts to the image. I personally wouldn’t use it for games in 60+fps, but it could be useful if you want smoother motion when you’re stuck playing a game in 30fps.
If you’re looking for the most accurate image, you’ll want Game HDR set to ‘Basic’. The advanced setting will give you a punchier image, but it over brightens the image and makes it less accurate. The same is true for the HDR10+ setting, which is specifically for games that support HDR10+. You’ll want that on ‘Basic’ for the most accurate image. I hope that helps!
Hi Ben Just to confirm cause what is confusing is that when I change these settings: Game HDR and HDR tone mapping. It changes the values needed to make the checkerboard dissapear in the XBOX HDR calibration. With HDR Tone mapping at always static, but putting Game HDR off i find i have to push the MAX TML to around 3000 to make the cherboard dissapear. But with Game HDR on, i only need to set it to 1000. Is Game HDR just a way of ensuring that a setting of 1000 is converted the best possible outcome of any TV with HGIG?
