Samsung soundbars Q930/Q950/Q990 from year 2021 to 2024 they are all the same.
I have a Q930B and the differences with Q990D are: +20% max volume (not needed), hdmi 2.1 (not enough games run at 120hz) and a minor/imperceptible upgrade in surround 5.1.
can i ask please how the dialogue clarity compare to the C? please please please.
I think its the same for all Q9 series Samsung soundbars from 2021 to current year (2024), if you want to improve dialogue clarity look for another brand, Sonos soundbars for example.
This is a total newbie question but if the only difference between the 990C and 990D was HDMI 2.1 and you’re not a gamer and don’t have an 8k TV, would there be any reason to go for the 990D over the 990C? In other words, does HDMI 2.1 produce any noticeable improvement in sound quality?
Its the same, even for gamers, HDMI 2.1 vs 2.0 has minor differences, 4K@120hz, VRR, ALLM, QFT and QMS, they are all minor/stupid things that can only be used with few games in PS5, Xbox Series X and a PC.
Sound quality? Its the same, HDMI 2.0 is the best for any soundbar, dont need more than that, so Q990D and Q930D will be exclusive for serious gamers this year.
I have been lucky i think, Im from Argentina too, have bought the 65" Q70T model, did not have any problems, but its cause me eye strain due to their lack of flicker-free screen.
Still a Samsung TV S90C (2023) + Samsung Soundbar Q990D (2024) will be the best gaming experience in 2025, and probably up to year 2027 too.

From C1 to C4 they are all the same if you watch/play something in a dark room, buy the cheapest one.
When an already running game supports 120hz it changes to “120hz (YUV422)”, otherwise says 60hz.
Tested it with Knockout City game.

I’m using 5-7 Sharpness in Game Mode with a PS5, otherwise with 0 it looks too blurry/opaque, especially in texts.
Yes, supports 4K 120hz, tested it on PS5 with a free PS Plus game (Knockout City).
