Yes, that’s correct! The Samsung HW-Q800C comes with the SWA-9500S speakers. We checked on Samsung’s website, and it looks like the SWA-9000S speakers aren’t compatible with this model though. You can take a look here.
Is 9500S is the only rear speaker which can be attached? As the speaker availability outside of US is non existent
One of the first things I did with my X90L was run HDMI audio compatibility tests by connecting my laptop to it and going into the Windows sound properties. The review claims it will accept everything from 2.0 to 7.1, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital+, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-X, and LPCM. When I run the Windows speaker configuration, I can only go up to 5.1 when connected to the X90L. When connected to my AVR, I can go up to 7.1. When I check the supported formats and codecs, I have everything except DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-X when connected to my X90L. When connected to my AVR, I also see support for DTS-HD Master Audio. I have my laptop set to 1280x720/23p. When my Sony UBP-X800M2 player is connected directly to the X90L, I again lack 7.1 support and support for DTS-HD Master Audio at 1080p and 4k resolutions. I have the X90L’s HDMI 1 input set to Enhanced. Am I missing something? Or is the review wrong? Any chance HDMI 3 and 4 are compatible with more audio channels and codecs than HDMI 1 and 2?
I had similar issue where with inbuilt apps the atmos does not kicks in on Q800C Soundbar.
Can you clarify on audio passthrough format as it says it supports eARC: Dolby TrueHD 7.1 as it converts to DD+ on soundbar which is connected by eArc port. The soundbar here being Samsung Q800C. Only 5.1 Atmos works.
By checking on kodi forums they confirmed that there is limitation on how Android passthrough 7.1 via TV. The option are to get a True HD streamer like Fire TV Cube 3 / 4k Max 2nd Gen / Shield Pro or go via amplifier/receiver way
