Our Verdict

KitchenAid K400

Vitamix 5200

The Vitamix 5200 is a better blender for most uses than the KitchenAid K400. The Vitamix is better built, much easier to use for recipes like nut butter, and easier to clean by hand. On the other hand, the KitchenAid blender has a few automatic blending programs. Its controls include a few automatic blending programs for different recipes.
