Best TV for a very dark room?

Ideally I would use an OLED TV, but trying to stay in budget. Looking for a 50 inch TV and the main important feature is that when the picture is totally BLACK, minimal light comes from the TV. Bonus if it has both sleep and wake up timers! Suggestions?

What does your TV show as the incoming signal information? Your graphics card is most likely upscaling the image to 4k without you realizing it.

    Ah you’re correct.

Windows and the TV report 4k @ 120hz.

Interestingly enough, you don’t get the rendering issues that true 4k @ 120hz provides on this TV. While it’s obviously not 4k, it’s still an option for those that want higher refresh rates, but a sharper picture than 1080p would provide.

This TV seemingly supports 1440p @ 120hz (at least on Windows 11). No forcing/fiddling required. You can do it right from the windows 11 display settings.

I’ve been running my TV computer at this resolution and refresh rate with zero problems for 2 weeks now.
