I have a Sony KD43XG8396 LED TV and I’m seriously considering upgrading to the Sony A9S so that I can finally watch my 4K HDR blu ray discs with the HDR as it’s meant to be displayed.

HDR looks OK on my KD43GX8396 but because it’s only an LED panel, the dark parts of the image are way too dark and a lot of detail gets swallowed up in deep shadows.

So my questions are:-

1. To what extent would the Sony A9S resolve the issue of image detail being lost in deep shadows?

and

1. What does the absence of 2.1 ports on the Sony A9S mean in terms of watching 4K HDR blu rays?

FYI; I don’t do gaming and I’m a varied TV watcher. So I just want to be sure that the Sony A9S would be a marked improvement over the Sony KD43XG8396.
