I purchased a 75" QM7 and am struggling a bit with light reflection. I have floor to ceiling windows behind me when viewing the TV. Currently the 75" QM7 and the 75" U8N are going for the same price. Would the U8N make a significant difference for the reflection issues? Is it worth going through the hassle of exchanging these big Tvs?
Recently looked at both side by side at a video only here in Seattle, and damn man…I was so disappointed in the TCLs semi-matte screen. Not only did it look totally flat next to the U8N, but that screen made all reflections 10x worse IMO. The beauty of having crazy bright TV’s is the glares are usually overcome on a glossy screen, but the semi-matte screen diffuses the light so much that the reflections are still present even with 100 backlight.
Now…all that to say if this TV is in a darkish room, or away from any windows, it’s still going to look great. It’s just so evident how much more the colors pop on the U8N. Of course if you don’t have it next to the Hisense, you won’t ever know of the difference…but in person next to each other it’s pretty shocking.
Like everyone else, I think the main thing folks want to know is how it’s panel affects the contrast in a real world environment. If the VA panel of the u7n is a 8/10, is the ADS panel a 7 or 6?
Mostly curious if this will be worth paying extra for over the previous model. I feel like the initial impression of the U8N was that it was better than it’s predecessor, but probably not worth the extra costs if you could find U8K on discount.
QM8 on Amazon/Best buy right now is pretty cheap, and I’m really tempted to buy it and just be done with the shopping…
Obviously comparisons to the previous model, the U8N and the new Bravia 9 are the obvious choices for me!
How come it is taking forever to test this TV?? Never seen this long testing cycle for a TV at RTINGs…Testing started on May 23 and still no early access in 12 days?? Fishy?
Calm down bud…let the people who do the great work have some freaking time!
…yea…that’s why he’s wondering if it’s better?
What are you LOL'ing?
For a TV in this price range, it seems the #‘s look great.
Saw it in person yesterday and it passed the eye test for sure. Definitely getting your $ worth assuming no major software hiccups!
Now!
