When y’all say you kept all the hdr and Dolby vision advanced settings at their defaults, do you mean leaving sharpness, noise reduction, and etc on low?
Have y’all retested the b3 for new peak brightness? I’d like to see how it compares to the new b4 with the b3’s latest update that definitely improved brightness
Just curious if y’all might have reconsidered retesting the b3 after latest firmware for brightness? If I were to guess it made quite a jump in brightness!
If y’all do retest the lg b3 and it does prove to be brighter, will it affect the score as well or is it too late? I’m very confident it compares to the lg b4 now with the June update in regards to brightness.
Just curious if the tv is now brighter with the latest firmware. I thought it got brighter with previous firmware but was proven wrong. But it does seem to me this latest has brightened the LG B3 by a little.
I have also received the 03.20.50 software here in the US. The B3 is definitely getting slowly but surely brighter with each update. I really would like to know where is sits now with peak brightness compare to last years B2 or the new C3.
Hmm, I’m not quite sure where you’re seeing that, but this TV scores an 8.8 for HDR Movies, and it’s displayed properly in both places on my end. Is it possible you were looking at the HDR Gaming score at the top instead?
Is it in a bright room or not?
I currently have a 55 Q90T in a bright room (south facing windows to the left of the TV with only sheer filtering curtains) and I am looking at upgrading to a G3 65, C3 77 or S90 77. (The Q90T is still a great TV and will be going to another room).
Kind of want DTS on eARC and DolbyVision, which is pushing me toward the C3 or G3. I am highly confident the G3 could handle the room just like the Q90T does today and the S90 would, but going only to 65 seems to set me up for another replacement three years from now and a G3 77 is just a bridge too far for my budget.
If the B3 handles a bright room fairly well (almost as well as the Q90T) that would give me confidence the brighter C3 could as well, and likely better, based on the C3 scores versus the early release scores for the B3. I might even consider a 77 B3 given its much lower price point versus the 77 C3.
It’s in an average lot room. Not too bright of a room.
I personally bought the B3 and love it. I watch a bunch of movies and sports. It’s worked out great for me. Coming from a Samsung Q90T with 1200 nits. No regrets
We y’all be retesting the b3 for brightness with the new testing method?
One last question. Will running the lg b3 at 100 pixel brightness cause burn in quicker compared to say50
As far as white balance settings, does that only apply to SDR? Not sure if I need to try th for HDR and DV.
Thanks for your reply. I still would like to see the new brightness measurements on the b3. I think it would be on par with the b4.

With the new software (23.20.71) the b3 now takes 30 minutes to activate the screen saver. Wouldn’t this cause burn in?

For those that don’t know, the lg b3 is much brighter in HDR since the June update.
I know y’all may not have time but if possible can you please compare the lg b3 with the lg b4 for comparison?
I also wanted to say the gradient has improved as well
After firmware 3.31.55 the b3 seems to be brighter. Can you test to see? Thx in advance. There is no doubt it is now brighter
Does the brightness go up any in cinema home mode. If so by how much?
I myself feel it’s gotten brighter since 3.30.83 firmware. Not much but worth rechecking
Just curious if the c2 is burning in faster than the b2 considering the c2 has a higher light output

Just curious if I ran the B3 in the vivid mode will that cause premature burn in? Thx
Thanks! Y’all do excellent work!
Yes. You can now see things in dark scenes you couldn’t before. Definitely brighter!

If had to guess I’d say the b3 hits about 50 nits higher with new sw 03.20.40
Software 03.20.40
Just curious if y’all can update to the latest software for the B3. I know it looks to be brighter across the board with it.
TV GETS BRIGHTER WOTH SOFTWARE 03.20.24
Just updated B3 to software 03.20.23 and screen is brighter across the board.

I myself am curious how the b3 measures up against the c3. Especially in the brightness category. Please test soon before Black Friday starts.
Thank you. Love this website. very informative and thorough.
