This is my 3rd Lenovo laptop. Here are a few comments to consider: I use it for general computer work, surfing the web, basic online games (not gaming).
PROS:
I like the backlit keyboard that you can turn on and off.
Camera and sound are good
Picture quality is good
CONS:
Touchpad is NOT centered and is too far left. I have had laptops since the 80’s (ok there were no touchpads then) but it is so annoying that it is not centered. You have to keep a large portion of your hand off the laptop and it is uncomfortable.
I have changed the setting but the touchpad regularly clicks on something when hovering or it closes screens on its own. Very annoying if you have opened a website and need to go back to find it.
OVERALL:
I have always been happy with Lenovo laptops but I am ready to get rid of this one and search for another brand. I would recommend before buying you go into a brick and mortar store and try it out first. The touchpad location really sucks. I can’t understand why it is so far left of center. DO a lot of typing and searching the net, etc. to see if you can live with it. Very disappointed with the customer service as well. It used to be better.
I will be looking at other brands during the after xmas sales to find a better laptop.
Why is it that i called for a broken camera during warranty and your service didnt repair. We call few months after with same problem and you wont repair the problem. Even tho it was mentionned during warranty and never repaired correctly by your service.
When i try to explain the situation to many agents on the phone, they tell me the warranty is over and there is nothing to do, Lenovo would never repair under warranty.
I would understand if the problem was new, but there was a service call for the exact same problem, and the solutions proposed didnt repair the problem. My employee was away for while, when she came back she told me the problem with camera is still there but Lenovo wouldnt repair because the warranty was over.
I tried calling myself and i got the same answer.
I thought Lenovo was a serious company and reliable customer service. I bought 3 laptops from them since 4 years. It will be my last time for sure.
Be very careful if you have an issue, make sure it is fixed before the end of warranty, if not extend the warranty.

Update: Added mention of the HP Pavilion Aero 13 (2024) as a more compact alternative in the Portability section.
We’ve purchased the product and are waiting for it to arrive in our lab.
