The Magic Bullet Combo Blender is a small, simple, full-size blender. It comes with a 48oz main jar and a 24oz personal jar for single-serve drinks like smoothies. It has straightforward controls, with only two speed settings and pulse mode. The blades are removable, which helps make cleaning easier, and all of its components are dishwasher-safe.
The Magic Bullet Combo Blender is disappointing for multi-purpose use. It comes with a personal jar along with a 48oz main jar, so it's easy to use for single-serve drinks like smoothies. It's fantastic at blending fibrous ingredients in its personal jar but makes a grainier blend with bigger batches in its main jar. It's not meant for crushing ice without liquid in the jar or blending dry ingredients like grains. However, you can use the main pitcher for hot blending.
The Magic Bullet Combo Blender is very good for blending single-serve smoothies. It comes with a personal jar for single-serve smoothies, and you can use it to make an extremely smooth blend, even if your recipe includes fibrous ingredients like kale and fruits. However, some blenders can produce similar results a little faster.
The Magic Bullet Combo Blender is okay for multiple servings of smoothies. It's easy to use to blend big batches of fibrous ingredients in its main jar. However, it makes a less smooth blend than with the personal jar, so smoothies with ingredients like kale or fruit will be somewhat grainy.
The Magic Bullet Combo Blender isn't intended for crushing ice without also adding liquid to the jar.
The Magic Bullet Combo Blender is great for soups. You can use the 48oz main jar to blend hot ingredients like roasted vegetables. It's easy to use to blend fibrous ingredients like broccoli, although it doesn't make a completely smooth blend.
The Magic Bullet Combo Blender isn't good for professional use. It's not very well-built and has limited controls, with just a couple of manual speeds available. You're also limited in how you use it since you can't blend dry ingredients or ice without adding liquid. However, it does a good job of blending fibrous ingredients like fruit and vegetables.
This blender comes in 'Black' or 'Silver.' We tested it in 'Silver' but expect our results to be valid for either variant. You can see the label for the unit we tested here.
If you encounter another variant, let us know in the forums, and we'll update our review.
The Magic Bullet Combo Blender is an inexpensive, small, full-size blender. Since you can hot blend in its main jar, it's a good option if you mostly blend smaller batches and smoothies but want the option of blending hot food for soups and sauces. Its main jar has a bigger capacity than other small full-size options like the NutriBullet Rx and Ninja TWISTi High-Speed Blender DUO, although it's a smaller and lighter blender overall. However, it's less versatile since it can't blend ice or dry ingredients without liquid in the jar.

The Magic Bullet Combo Blender is better than the Hamilton Beach Power Elite Multi-Function for most uses. The Magic Bullet has a better build quality and comes with a 15oz personal jar as well as a 48oz main jar. There are fewer restrictions on how you use the Hamilton Beach since it can crush ice and process dry ingredients without liquid in the jar, but it's not very good at crushing ice or making nut butter.
The Magic Bullet Combo Blender is better than the Hamilton Beach Wave Crusher Multi-Function for most purposes. The Magic Bullet is much sturdier and comes with a 15oz personal jar as well as a 48oz main jar. It's better for processing small batches of fibrous ingredients. The Hamilton Beach is more versatile since it can crush ice and process dry ingredients, but it's not good for more difficult blends like ice or nut butter.
The Black+Decker Quiet Blender with Cyclone Glass Jar is better than the Magic Bullet Combo Blender for most purposes. The Black+Decker is sturdier and more versatile, since it can crush ice and make nut butter without liquid in the jar. It's also significantly quieter.
The Ninja TWISTi High-Speed Blender DUO is better than the Magic Bullet Combo Blender. It has a better build quality and performance, as you can use it to make crushed ice and nut butter, and it makes a smoother blend with bigger batches of fibrous ingredients. However, it has a smaller capacity in its main jar and makes more noise when it's running.
The Ninja SMOOTHIEiQ and the Magic Bullet Combo Blender have different strengths. The Magic Bullet is a better option for smoothies since it comes with a personal jar and makes a smoother blend with fibrous ingredients. The Ninja has a bigger capacity in its main jar and can crush ice without liquid in the jar, so it's better for icy drinks like slushies.
The Magic Bullet Combo Blender is a very small full-size blender, making it a good option if you don't have much space but want to blend multiple servings. It's even smaller and lighter than the Vitamix ONE and Ninja TWISTi High-Speed Blender DUO.
It has an okay build quality. Aside from the blades, it's entirely made of plastic and rubber. The plastic feels reasonably sturdy, but the control dial feels very cheap and the pulse button has a crunchy feel when you press it. The lid has a rubber gasket to help it seal, and the jar locks easily onto the motor base. There's one blade assembly for use with both jars. There are four suction cup feet under the motor base that do a good job of keeping it in place.
The main jar has a 48oz main jar. The personal jar has no advertised capacity, but we measured a capacity of about 15oz or 450ml.
The jars and lids are plastic and are dishwasher-safe.
It comes with one blade assembly with four blades. It's removable for use with both jars.
There's a two-part lid for the main jar. The removable center piece doubles as a 2oz measuring cup, so you can easily pour in more ingredients mid-blend. There's also a screw-on lid for the lid for the personal jar with a drinking spout, so you can easily bring your drink on the go.
The power cord is on the short side but long enough to reach an outlet near your counter.
It's fantastic for blending small batches of fibrous ingredients. If you blend for three minutes, it makes a virtually perfectly smooth blend in its personal jar. While some blenders can make something like a kale smoothie faster, depending on your ingredients and preferences, you may find two minutes of blending is enough.
It's very good for processing ingredients at full capacity. You have to scrape the jar once with a spatula for the best results, so it's not quite as easy as using the personal jar for a smaller batch. After a couple minutes of blending it makes a slightly grainy puree with ingredients like kale.
It's not meant for crushing ice without liquid in the jar. The manual says blending ice without a liquid could shatter the jars. If you want a simple blender for crushing ice, check out the Ninja SMOOTHIEiQ.
The manual says not to use it to blend dry ingredients such as grains, cereal, or coffee. We've reached out to the manufacturer to confirm if nuts fall into that category, and we'll update our results if necessary.
It's pretty loud for a blender. You can find noticeably quieter blenders with similar motor power, like the KitchenAid K150.
It has a fairly narrow range of speed settings. The slowest speed isn't very slow, and the fastest isn't that fast, so you don't have many options for adjusting the speed for your particular recipe.
It has simple controls, with only a couple of speed settings (low and high) and a pulse button. The blender will automatically shut off after one minute when using manual blending on low or high.
It's easy to clean by hand. The blades are removable, which helps make them easier to reach and clean. You'll have to wipe both parts of the main jar's lid and the inside of the jar with a sponge, but overall, it's an easy process.
