Grateful for the test of this monitor!I wonder whether the 24.5 inch mode of the monitor will increase the input lag

    any news about testting?

Testing was just finished and we had our testers meeting yesterday to validate the results. We’re preparing for the handover to the writing team now!

Not kidding, but BestBuy has marked this product on “Clearance”. Not a sale, but clearance.

Are you planning on incorporating the new auto color management feature added in the Windows 24H2 update in your testing? It seems like it could help significantly improve pre-calibration accuracy. For the M10s specifically, you could use a mode with unlocked gamma and use ACM to clamp the monitor to sRGB.

Unfortunately, it isn’t something we have any immediate plans to start doing, we could revisit it in a future test bench update, but we can’t make any guarantees at this time. Sorry about that!

  14. Update: Converted to Test Bench 2.0.1.

What would have less input lag with this monitor gpu scaling or display scaling? Even if its a small difference which is better ? And which should i use for latency display port or hdmi? Even though dp is not true 2.1. Wouldnt the hdmi 2.1 at 48gb be better?

Hi, when it comes to testing monitors we define input lag as “the time it takes for a monitor to receive a signal and then display the image on screen.” If the monitor has to do more processing before displaying an image, then that can increase input lag, as we define it for monitors. Upscaling an image to match the monitor’s native resolution can add processing time, so in terms of monitor input lag, display scaling can increase input lag.

However, when most people think of input lag in gaming they’re thinking about the delay between you providing an input and that input being visible on the display. In this case the upscaling needs to be done by either your GPU or the monitor itself. However, GPU scaling is generally faster and can look better because your GPU has more processing power. DisplayPort and HDMI should have extremely similar input lag.

Interestingly, a higher bandwidth port with more throughput (like HDMI 2.1) isn’t an advantage for latency. A good analogy is a freeway. When you’re on a freeway there’s a maximum speed limit. Depending on how many lanes there are the freeway can increase its capacity (bandwidth), but any given car on that freeway is still going to have the same maximum speed. The same applies here. You can carry more data with HDMI 2.1 than with DisplayPort 1.4, but the data is still going at roughly the same speed, so you have roughly the same latency. As a result, from an input lag perspective, it doesn’t matter which one you use.

  17. We’ve just released a new video that mentions the Sony INZONE M10S here.

I have sony m10s inzone with a gaming PC with geforce5080 and having issues with the output. Most of the time PC is on and there is nothing on the monitor. I switch to onboard hdmi and everything looks ok. it is said that 5080 has issues with M10S. have you witnessed this and if so, do you have any solution? thank you
