I hope someone will see this. I know this is an old TV at this point. I’ve been searching the Internet and I found, actually, a lot of posts about people even having depression problems after using an OLED set, but not having these problems by viewing their phone or an iPad.
I have a Sony long throw projector, and I never have eyestrain. I have a 55 inch Sony LCD TV, and it doesn’t ever give me eyestrain. I’ve had my LG CX for almost 2 years, or maybe a little more, and I always feel exhausted after a short amount of time of playing a game on it. I’m wondering if there is any explanation to this? For example, I know that a lot of LED TVs refresh around 700 Hz, and maybe more. I know that the CX refreshes at what would be considered 60 frames or hertz, because the LEDs themselves have to refresh in order to display color, or something along those lines. I can’t remember exactly what the explanation was. With all of this, I understand that the actual refresh rate is still going to follow the frame rate of the game that I am playing on an LED TV. So I still cannot quite make sense of why it is causing eyestrain and fatigue when watching an OLED TV, unless it is because the light is dimming and brightening, not simply refreshing.
Anyhow, could someone tell me if an LED TV a newer LED TV would be better, and do OLED TV panels cause you any fatigue when playing games? My settings are in game mode at 120 Hz, I have eye comfort mode on etc. I’m really not sure why I get so much fatigue from viewing my OLED TV. When reading other comments on this matter, I read that someone returned their OLED, purchased an LED TV, and had a lot less problems with fatigue, depression and anxiety. I would just like to try to put my finger on exactly what is going on, so that I do not make a bad purchase. I am going to sell my LG, because I cannot handle the fatigue that it causes, and I cannot handle the black crush issues that I have dealt with ever since the day I bought it.
