Purchased this tv a few years ago, $$$, ran into some bizarre screen issues. Brought it up to Sony as I figured a reputable company like this would actually care to provide a solution. Was told by their customer service employee that it was out of warranty and therefore they recommend getting a recommended service technician out. Live in a major canadian city and he said they don’t have any recommended service techs once he looked it up. Followed up with them by saying i’d like to speak with a manager or customer retention department to see if there was anything they might be able to help with. Provided a case number and told someone would call me back. Many months later, nobody called so i followed up. The response was “it’s out of warranty so nobody called you back”. I confirmed with them that because it was out of warranty that they wouldn’t even take the time to call me back to say there’s nothing they are willing to do, and that i had to reach back out to find out that they wouldn’t even take the time of day to call me back as promised.

Needless to say, was a fine tv while it worked. When you spend big dough on a tv you’d hope that it lasts longer than 2 years and that if there was an issue, even if Sony wasn’t willing to do anything about it, that they’d have the decency to call you back and say so.

Extremely dissatisfied with the customer service, will not be purchasing a Sony ever again. The reason you spend money on quality items is because they are quality and when they are not, good companies try to help with their customers. This was the opposite of the experience i expected from my first, and last sony tv.
