For the PS5 you must
– go into ‘settings‘
– select ‘saved data and game/app settings‘ – > ‘game presets‘
– change ‘resolution mode‘ to ‘performance mode‘

That should unlock the 120hz option on the PS5.
I’ve done that and sadly I’m still only getting 60hz on the monitor.any other ideas? I’ve tried just about every setting on the monitor and all I can ever get is 60hz.

Only other suggestion is on the monitor in its OSD check that
Adaptive Sync is disabled.
ELMB Sync is disabled.
if that doesn’t work looking at the manual page 3-12 you can see resolution and refresh rate table.
1920x1080 120hz is listed in the PC video timings part of the table.
1920x1080P 60hz is listed in the video timings part of the table.
If I were to guess the PS5 is only looking at the video timings, it is ignoring the other PC resolution and refresh rates which is I would guess Sony’s design mentality. Not all 120hz is the same, these features are PC specific to some displays.

(Sorry if I’m clueless and can’t find something) But I don’t even see Adaptive sync anywhere, but the ELMB Sync is grayed out (like most things it seems while on PS5). I’m begit to just think that 120hz isn’t going to happen with this monitor.

Adaptive sync is Freesync it would be under the gaming section of the monitor in same area as ELMB Sync normally, I doubt it makes any difference.
I think Sony ignore PC resolutions, they only look at AV (TV) resolutions. The 120hz mode on this monitor is in the PC resolution section, it has no AV 120hz mode, at least that’s my best guess.

Well that stinks. Thanks for all the help! Gonna be on the lookout for another monitor I guess now haha. Is there something specifically I should try and search for to be sure that 120hz should work with the PS5 specifically? Gonna try and find something else at 120hz that has HDR as well that doesn’t break the bank lol

Look at support section and download the resolution file you can see 1920x1080 120Hz in video timing section.
Also keep in mind I would be very surprised if Sony add Freesync support to the PS5 so without that any game that isn’t a perfect 120FPS is going to judder on that display at 120Hz out.
Sony may only add support for HDMI-VRR which is not supported on current PC monitors.
This BenQ has 120Hz in its AV resolution and BenQ do have a PR piece saying its compatible though that’s not a 100% guarantee.

That’s the exact monitor I’ve been looking at since finding out it’s likely I won’t get 120 on the asus. Thanks for all the help!
What’s the input lag on 120hz? I’m looking to buy the exact same monitor
