I just bought this monitor on Amazon for $129 as well. I had been looking at VG248QG, but it does not have FreeSync support, costs $40 more, AND is almost 3 years old now so I decided against it. It also had an external power supply, which is irks me, while the VG249QL3A has an internal one! I hope RTings will review this monitor so I can know how good the ELMB claims are.
I agree, havenโt tried to earnestly calibrate this unit, but have followed the advise here & other sources, but up close the visual is soft & washed out, though the color pops, trying to find a happy medium, but itโs for bedroom use. Compared to my 2018 LG OLED this leaves a lot to be desired.
Have you tried playing with the local dimming zone settings? I also sometimes get a glow around the edges sometimes, but when the screen is mostly black the edge glow goes away.
Anyone know why the pixel response graph is all over the place? Some other TVs Iโve looked at have a pretty straight curve, but this oneโs jumping up and down like crazy.
Has Hisense released a fix for the response time overshooting when over 100Hz?
