Firmware update v6.1020 broke my local dimming. Beware.

The firmware update v6.1020 was not yet available in my region but it was recommended to me as a fix by Sony Support for the audio completely dropping out on my TV. They walked me through the process of flashing the firmware to my TV and assured me it would fix my issues and wouldnโ€™t do anything bad to my TV. The firmware update not only did not fix my issues but it introduced a new and even worse one that is unaffected by rebooting or factory resetting, meaning there is no temporary fix like the numerous other โ€œgane breakingโ€ bugs that have plagued my x900h. The local dimming on my TV is now broken. Any time I switch content, inputs, apps, turn on a console, change the game Iโ€™m playing or navigate to the home screen it turns itself off and I have to toggle it in the menu to get it working again. Also Iโ€™ve noticed the TV is much more dim overall and there seems to be a lot more blooming than previously. The update essentially made my TV unusable. When I ci tacted Sony about it they refused to do anything about it. They hardly even acknowledge it. They gave me the same answer as my other issues โ€œwait for a firmware updateโ€. I urge anyone strongly away from buying this TV or any Sony TV for that matter. I am out $1200 and will be out another $2200 for the OLED in buying as a replacement that I should have bought in the first place. I bought the TV specifically for 4k 120hz gaming and it is currently unusable as a computer monitor for me (extremely blurry text at 120hz, regardless of resolution) and now I canโ€™t even enjoy my normal content on it because the main feature of the TV, FALD, was broken by a firmware update. Rediculous.
