If i’d new even the newest Samsung qled models are a complete crap for motion, just like every Samsung tv model so far, i’d never bought q70r in the first place. It is strange since your review about motion is great. But in reality it is terrible. I have 55" version and those native 120 hz don’t matter much because my 2014 model 60hz LG has better motion than Q70r. I mostly bought this tv for gaming, since you scored it one of the best gaming tvs this year. I mostly play rdr2 and gta v on xbox one x. The thing is that every motion looks terrible on this tv. If i play in game mode with freesync it sucks. If i play it in standard mode with automotion off, everything is a blury mess. But if i turn automotion on on custom and set dejudder slider up to 2 or 3, motion is a bit more smooth but it gets such crazy artefacts and double ghosting, it’s unplayable. The aiming cursor in rdr2 transfers into 1cm long bar instead of dot, everytime i turn the camera whilst aiming. And the hud map becomes two hud maps instead of one. And all that just at dejudder slider only at 3. You can imagine it all the way up As for deblur judder, it really doesn’t have a slightest impact on motion at all. Everything is still a blurry mess. Now i know console games rmostly run at 30fps, but on lg and sony tvs they still look more smooth and less blurry. Input lag is low in any mode but that doesn’t mean much if motion is so bad. As for game mode, it is also unplayable to me due to blur and judder and that fancy samsung freesync and game motion doesn’t worth much because it introduces the same artefacts as with classic dejudder. It’s literally the worst motion interpolation on this samsung out of any other tv brand. I had the same problems with my old fancy and overexpensive js9500. Obviously samsung still sucks at motion, even in it’s highest end tv sets. I’ve checked q90r in the store, where i plugged my xbox one x with rdr2 on it. Absolutely the same problem at tv that costs 2.5k. It’s a disgrace. I’m done with samsung forever, i’m getting this tv back and i’ll take sony x950g. At least with sony i know i’ll get good motion interpolation without double picture, nasty judder and artifacts. I can’t imagine how cany anyone game on this tv or watch any other content in motion for that matter. Movies and sports look bad as well. Especially sports due to ugly DSE, which again is the problem for most samsung tvs. Anyways, i’m completely shocked at the fact that the tv with overall score 8.4 and 10 in motion interpolation, can be that bad at motion when you actually watch it. I still have 2014 model LG, LB670V, that thing blows every high end samsung out of the water when it comes to motion. Thank god i still have 5 days window to return this tv and get other brand.
