Very few people have the resources, time and money to have their TV professionally calibrated. If a TVs out of the box picture is poor, I’ll be less inclined to buy it. So the score for pre-calibration should be more severe, both overall and the other top level categories it affects.
The LG B9 scored a 4.9, but it didn’t affect the overall score nor movies, video games, etc. And the C9, with pre-calibration at 7.6, says the value for price is beaten by the B9. I don’t know what the launch prices were for these two, but right now it’s 1300 and 1500. The price for a calibration from Best Buy is 250. So if I wanted the B9 to look good, I’d have to pay 1550.
