New Freesync/VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) testing with Ampere cards?

I wanted to post this in the open forums, but I couldn’t find out how. I have three of the Samsung RU8000 55" TVs hooked up to my one gaming computer. Right now I am running two GTX 1080ti’s in SLI, but I plan on upgrading to a 3080ti or 3090 when they come available (I know, not much speed difference from the 3080, but running three 4k displays, the VRAM would make a difference). Something I am confused at is that I have not been able to find a review, anywhere at all, that does any testing on NVidia’s HDMI 2.1 and VRR. VRR is suppose to be a part of HDMI 2.1 (though they really F’d up on not setting a proper standard for compressions vs non-compressed). There are so many TVs, including my own, that have Freesync/VRR built in, and they are a lot cheaper and bigger than buying a monitor. More and more people are opting out for big displays, but don’t want to spend the money on a G-Sync compatible one. HDMI 2.1 Freesync/VRR seems to be able to solve this, but I can’t find any info on it at all.

Thank you for pointing out this issue about the TV's PC mode with a 24p input. We unfortunately do not have the TV on hand anymore to verify this, but some of our readers might appreciate the information.
