    Hey nfp0,

Thanks for taking the time to share such a detailed message with us! We’ve seen a few reports of this with other monitors so we’re definitely keeping an eye on the situation. In the meantime, I think it’s worth mentioning that this could also be an issue with Windows 10. There’s a bug that seems to have been around for a bit and it causes issues with the Deep Sleep mode for some connected devices. Most monitors either don’t support the full deep sleep mode, or at least give you an option to turn it off. There are quite a few potential fixes for it though, depending on the user’s system. I’d suggest having a look at this article as it could prove to be helpful! Of course, they may not be exactly what you’re experience, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind! :)

Thanks for the suggestion Dylan. I’ve tried those but nothing helped. I’m afraid there’s no other solution other than a firmware update. The issue is also not isolated to Windows 10, as I’ve tested it with Linux, where the same problem occurs. I just hope the problem is solved on the new LG 27GP83B-B, as I was planning to replace my monitor with that.

Since your sample of the LG 27GP83B-B is currently in the lab and it’s the successor to this monitor, it would be nice if you could test it for this issue on an Radeon RX 6000 series card.

Hey there, sorry for the delay. I reached out to our testers to see if we can have a look and they just got back to me. That said, we plugged ours into our pc with a RX6800 gpu, let the pc go to sleep for 5-10 minutes with 3 screens plugged in, and all the windows were in the right place when we woke it up.The testers also checked the same thing on the old one(on a different pc though), and the old one would shuffle everything around. So as far as i can tell, the new one seems fine! :)

Thank you so much for testing this out, Dylan! That confirms what LG said about the firmware bug on this monitor. I hope people buying this monitor reads this. Also, great news that the new LG 27GP83B-B doesn’t exhibit this problem. Maybe I can get LG to replace my monitor with the 27GP83B-B, but I’m in Europe and I still don’t see it on sale anywhere.

Our pleasure!! People definitely seem pretty happy with the 27GP83B-B too, so that’s always nice to see. If you end up trying to contact LG, I hope it works out! :)
