For anyone bothered by slow startup times, I’d say to get another one. I did a non-scientific measurement with my macbook M1:
- 25 seconds to boot up with auto source on (it cycled between the 3 of them)
- 11 seconds with auto source off
It’s so slow that you need to keep pressing keys on your keyboard until the screen boots up, otherwise the macbook goes back to sleep, which in turn, makes the monitor fail to start… (Only relevant when using the mac in clamshell mode, of course)
