  1. Update: Clarified that the LG 49GR85DC-B is a super ultrawide gaming monitor that supports HDMI 2.1 bandwidth.

Any planned retest/update for the apparent “refresh” (LS49CG954ENXZA) that came out roughly January 2024? I can’t tell if it’d need to be treated as a new model, but the discussions12 I found seem to consider it essentially the old monitor with just a few updates like HDMI 2.1.

Regardless, it might be worth noting the new model number and its changes (or lack thereof), and where it currently sits in the lineup of other “Odyssey G9” monitors. The new numbering is strikingly similar to the OLED version (both model numbers now contain “S49CG95”) and I’m sure Samsung would appreciate you helping consumers avoid accidentally purchasing the wrong one…

Hey! Right now we don’t have any plans to test it, but you can vote for it and if it’s popular enough we’ll buy and test it. But as you mentioned it seems to be very similar to the Odyssey G9 we tested.

And good point about the similar name here, we’ll consider adding that info to the other G9 reviews!
