this set doesn’t sync to the input vsync so each time you turn on a video game console you will get a different lag value, between 0 and 16ms slower than you report here. perhaps this is a bug in the newest firmware (I tested 4209-30, aka 10.0.0.0.

This is definitely not normal behavior.

I know this is an old post, but I just bought this TV for my son’s play room and I found the same issue. It’s mostly noticeable viewing the tv sideways. None of my other TV’s have this issue, but this is my first VA panel and my first TLC. It doesn’t bother me as it was a sale and a bargaining; we leave the TV mostly unplugged, and it’s just used when my son has friends or cousins visiting us. But still I wonder if you got any response from TLC about it. I will certainly send them an email about it.

FYI, mine still glows. Sadly, I’ve become accustomed to unplugging it every day.

I spoke to TCL last year and they wanted the TV shipped to them to investigate. I never got around to it because they were not providing a replacement and who knows how long it would’ve taken to be replaced or refunded. I have an extended warranty and when I have a chance I might look into again.

It glows because it’s not connected to wifi

Old post, but if anyone else is wondering about this, I actually bought the 43S425 we reviewed when we were done with it, and it glows too. It’s in a basement bedroom, and although the glow isn’t noticeable from more than a few feet away, if I walk past it I can clearly see it. I’ve even occasionally seen the TCL and Roku logos on the screen.
