Viewing Angle

I have a question regarding the viewing angle score. I’m looking for a +70" display and viewing angle is important to us because we do have people over to watch sports and have movie nights. Your top viewing angle TVs over 70" are out of my budget, but the X850F is cost-wise closer to where I was hoping to land. However, there are several TVs that have similar price points with higher picture quality scores, yet lower viewing angle scores (the X940E for example). All that to ask my question, is the viewing angle score a true measure of the viewing angle picture quality or is it more of a measurement of the drop off in picture quality?

I guess what I’m trying to determine is if for those watching from an angle, will the X940E still outperform (or perform similarly to) the X850F because it’s overall picture quality is better?

Probably not. We have noticed this behavior on all LG OLED TVs where depending on content, some dark scenes were too dark and crushes the blacks. Adjusting 'Gamma' to 1.9 fix that problem and give the same look as other LED TVs set to gamma 2.2 (of course, with the deeper blacks of OLED TVs).
