Local Dimming Lag

When selecting the input for my PlayStation 4 Pro, I notice the screen is slightly grey for a few seconds and then goes to jet black. I am curious why the slight delay for the local dimming to kick on when selecting different input ? And also if this is normal and not a issue the the tv. Thanks
