Had TV for two days. Not a gamer but needed in a small room with limited surface space for stand. Also need elevated stand option for soundbar. Sitting about 7 feet away for normal viewing.
Ratings.com review is accurate based on my short time with TV. I find it bright enough in my family room with some sun from windows but curtains all around to dim room. Coming from a two year old Samsung 4K LED 40inch TV. Sony picture much more organic…dare I say a richer picture. Samsung got brighter but as you folks always say brightness is not everything.
Too bad you folks didn’t mention that documentation is almost non-existent other than unboxing, stand setup, and remote control button description. Even Sony website seems to have no detailed explanation of the many settings which can be controlled through menus and how they interact. Had to resort to YouTube and reviews to figure it all out. I can understand why a newcomer to OLED and 4K would be absolutely frustrated trying to figure out what all the settings do and don’t do. Bravia Core is interesting but feels like it’s still in Beta after a year or so of availability with Bravia TVs. It does provide 10 free movies and 24 months free streaming of a very limited number of Sony titles.
Remote control with minimal buttons okay. Lights up when moved which I like. Appears to be IR only and not wireless bluetooth unless I’m missing a setting. Prefer wireless bluetooth remotes. Still trying to figure out which remote button to provide aspect, resolution, and sound type for onscreen streaming device: Apple TV, TiVo Bolt, Amazon Firestick, Roku Ultra, TiVo Streaming stick, and Sony Blu-ray DVD player.
Love the elevated heavy stand. Sonos Beam fits under it like a glove. Problems getting TV to pair with the Beam. TV would attempt connection then revert to internal speakers. Had to disconnect all HDMI cables for external devices, unplug both TV and Beam, restart, then pair only the Beam before installing other external HDMI devices. Now okay. Weird HDMI behavior.
I’ve made no settings changes yet other than to disable power saving and light sensor. Using in Standard mode and actually like what I’m seeing. Somewhat warmer picture than my Samsung which takes time to adapt to. Will dial in review settings tomorrow and provide more feedback on this unique TV.
Fortunately Rtings exists, no test in Europe for the moment. It is a good solution compared to the small Oled offered by Panasonic
Is the American Q7 similar to the European C745? I wanted to buy a C745 (france) but there is very little test here. After reading your test I ask myself questions… is it really that good?
