LG C6 advertisement on startup

In a recent update, LG has now done evil. A grey box with a text advertisement will appear once a day in the top right hand corner of the screen for a few seconds. I hope that RTINGS will research and put this in the “ads” section of the oled c7/c8 line to warn future customers, because this sort of behavior is unacceptable.

The Low, Medium, and High settings merely adjust the length of the black frame. Longer black frames result in a clearer image, but it also reduces the apparent brightness of the display. 120Hz BFI is only available when sending a 120Hz signal. When displaying a 24Hz signal, the BFI is always at 60Hz, which causes judder.

Sorry, forgot to answer your second question!

BFI isn’t available in HDR/Dolby Vision.

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for your reply. What you say with regards to 120Hz BFI contradicts well-known calibrator DeWayne Davis, who says Low, Medium and Auto flicker at 120Hz with a 5:5 pulldown on 24Hz signals. Could the Real Cinema setting be the culprit in explaining the apparent differences in your findings?

I really don’t know, but I’ll forward that to our testing team so they can take a look. Thanks!
