HDR brightness in 4:4:4 Pass Through

Is there any difference in the HDR peak brightness when enabling 4:4:4 Pass Through (or PC mode)? Is it dimmer or is it unchanged?

I would like to have 4:4:4 passthrough on my gaming consoles, but not when the HDR is notably dimmer compared to the normal mode.
