Best connections for the best audio from sound bar

Hello, I have the Samsung UN65KU6290 tv and a Samsung HW-MS650 sound bar. Right now, I have them hooked up together with an HDMI-ARC cable. To get the best sound from my Playstation 4, would it be better to have it go through the HDMI through the TV to the sound bar or an optical cable from my PS4 directly to the sound bar? Also which settings would be best for the Audio Format and the HDMI Audio Format? Thank You
