You should have the Rokform G-Rok in your product list. I’ve owned a few speakers on this list (including the Wingman non-screen version, JBL Clip, Anker Soundcore, Wonderboom 3 and one/two others. The Rokform blows them all away on battery life and magnetic strength (an important consideration when golfing in a cart). The Rokform magnet is strong enough where you have to ensure your fingers are not behind the speaker when you want to hang it on metal.

Of what I’ve owned, I think the Wonderboom sounds the best but not by much over the Rokform as I’m not turning it up to a volume loud enough to capture details in the music. When it takes 4-5 hours for a round, you are thankful for the Rokform long battery life that can last 3 rounds. The Rokform form factor works significantly better than the Wonderboom or anything else if you want a speaker that is good for both attaching to a cart via magnet or leaving strapped to your bag.

The clip style speakers are really only practical to leave attached to your bag. Otherwise you have to throw in the front storage bin of a cart. Which means if you are riding in a cart and the unit is strapped to your bag, the music will be behind you and you have to turn it up louder to hear while in a cart. It also means the sound will carry further on course and potentially annoy others. Similarly, if it’s in the storage bin, the sound is muffled and you have to turn it up louder to hear.

Speakers like the Wingman and Rokform that attach to the metal roof pillars in a cart means the music is facing you and you don’t have to turn it up as loud to hear. You can listen at more than a comfortable volume and those on the other side of the fairway, next tee box, even on your tee box when the cart is parked on the path won’t hear what you are playing.

    Hi there,

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with us, we really appreciate the apparently detail you provided in your message. While we don’t have any immediate plans to buy and test the Rokform G-Rok, we’ll make sure to add it to our review pipeline page. So, if there’s enough user interest at any point, we’ll consider buying and testing it then. What your saying makes a lot of sense though, and I definitely get how this could be a great product for someone who golfs. I’ll make sure to pass this along to our product manager for additional consideration as well!

  4. We’ve just released a new video that mentions the Ultimate Ears MEGABOOM 3 and Ultimate Ears WONDERBOOM 3 here.
