Local dimming test done at angle

This is a general question, not specific for QN85A. But with the introduction of minileds, I pay more attention to what loacl dimming and dimming zones can bring to the table. Question: Why is the local dimming test done at an angle? Would the local dimming result be different when viewing from straight ahead?
