No DTS via ARC - why on earth?

Who at Sony decided that not including DTS passthrough via ARC while still having DTS-HD passthrough present was a good decision? Makes no sense at all and it’s probably the only thing keeping me from buying this. I’d like to use Kodi on the Android TV itself without a box like NVIDIA Shield or Raspberry Pi, but on last year’s XF90 it’s too slow and doesn’t have eARC capabilities. Now this XG95 has everything else but no regular old DTS passthrough? What went over their heads when this was decided..?
