I’ve had this 65 inch TV for a week while getting smarter on its capabilities. I agree with the review through my own observations. Using in a Home Theater with almost total light control. Sources are 4K Phillips Blu-Ray Player, Apple 4K TV and TiVo Bolt DVR. These are connected to a Yamaha TSR-7810 Receiver which is connected to TV through HDMI 3 input. Not a gamer so I can’t comment. No problems with receiver/TV interface and CEC switching. Lots of user settings will allow detailed self or pro calibration.
Out-of-the box this TV looks excellent especially in 4K HDR/Dolby Vision through native Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney + and HBO Max apps. It has gone through one firmware update with no problems. 4K HDR and Dolby Vision switch on automatically based on the source. Did have to dial back brightness in our darkened home theater.
Not mentioned (unless I missed it) is that Sony bluetooth now enables connection to wireless headphones. I’ve connected Bose 700’s and they work fine. They disable internal TV speaker when connected.
TV Stand Feet Limitation: TV stand feet easily snap into and out of slots near ends of TV. No other fitting position is available. I’m not a fan. This limits surfaces TV can sit on without modification. TV feet are too wide for our A/V cabinet so I purchased a Perlesmith PSTVS11 Tabletop Stand with a center base. Installation is straightforward and stand will easily handle 50 lb weight of TV. I left feet on while attaching Perlesmith stand to allow for proper positioning. The feet easily snap off by lifting TV and pulling them downward. In my opinion this is more stable and better looking than Sony’s tripod feet. TV height can now be adjusted easily. If you do this remember to install 4 internal bracket support bolts into VESA holes after removing VESA screws which come preinstalled on TV. These come in a package called “VS” provided with TV and are also used for wall mounting.
So far, we are very impressed with this TV. It seems to check all the right boxes for us and provides an excellent out-of-the-box viewing experience.
