TCL Flickering
Has anyone at Rtings noticed on the TCL 6 and 8 series there is flickering while watching HDR content with HDR set to brighter? Its almost like the TV has a hard time adjusting to the brightness or darkness of certain scenes. I noticed it on the Netflix movie Bright played in HDR through my PS4, both TVS had the same effect. It does NOT happen in Dolby Vision. Its highly annoying and my understanding is TCL has refused to acknowledge it

Thank you for contacting us. It really does not make a difference which of the two you choose with regards to uniformity. The uniformity issues are panel specific and they depend on the manufacturing tolerances set by the Quality Assurance departments of manufacturers. We are still getting reports about uniformity issues on the R617, but not as many as immediately after its release. In general, the 6 series and the P607 are very similar in performance but the R617 has more/better motion handling goodies, Go for the R617 you will enjoy it.

I’m in a similar boat. Vizio p series or tcl 6 series. Mostly doing HDR gaming and blue ray movies (1080p). Tcl 200 less! Going from an Samsung mu6300.

the p60 i just got an it flickers all over the place so bad its ridiculous.even every volume click causes massive tearing.im returning the pos the hdr is also bad th lguk6300 was way better an thats 300 less so maybe ill try the r617.making expert settings on the phone is stupid as can be,the app crashes

3 years with our 55p607 and still loving it ( must have received a good panel). Great black levels and all-around gorgeous picture quality.
