Subpixel dithering on M557

I purchased an M557 to use as a monitor, but even in PC mode, I’m finding that this TV uses subpixel dithering, which reduces the color resolution a fair amount. It’s especially noticeable in solid colors, here is an example: http://i.imgur.com/OUZC2El.jpeg

It also causes the colored text portion of the chroma Subsampling test to fail, even though the TV is receiving a full 4:4:4 or RGB image.

I haven’t found much discussion about this online, but apparently the 65 inch version does not do this, but the 55 inch version does. Rather disappointing given the RGB pixel layout and otherwise great performance.
