HDMI 2.1 Appears to be working

HDMI 2.1 Appears to be working. Around end of December it wasn’t. Today I turned on 4k in my Amazon Cube and HDMI 2.1 in the picture input settings through the TV.

Review says 2.1 isn’t working? Maybe 4k does not require 2.1 HDMI? I don’t know, could the editors weigh in?
