Is there anyway to "lock" settings for a particular HDMI input?

This behavior is quite infuriating that it keeps resetting to defaults if something gets unplugged from the display at either end. Is there any way I can stop the TV from doing this? It is literally my one complaint with the thing.

    Nowadays, with the good quality content available, it is preferable to turn off those settings, to have an image as close at what it was intended by the producer. Use them only if you are watching very low quality content.
