There’s a couple of errors in this review.
1) 360hz Dyac(BFI) Premium shot is extremely out of sync compared to the Dyac High shot at the same refresh rate and the 2 are also being tested with different overdrives. By the way, forcing Dyac disables VRR and with VRR disabled AMA(overdrive) performance also changes, so overdrive voltage scales in a different way regardless of the refresh rate.
2) Pulse Width and Pulse Phase can all be fully controlled by the Blurbusters strobe utility, this is one of the few monitors like the XG2431 where it’s actually possible to control these values. According the the Blurbusters page itslef: “This app is a BenQ authorized 3rd party utility”.
For Pulse Amplitude, the overvolted backlight itself can be controlled with the brightness slider without affecting OFF-Duty cycle.
From a performance point of view it doesn’t make sense to change the brightness slider instead of reducing persistence since they achieve the same result but one reduces MPRT even further to improve motion clarity, with Persistence set to 25 we are in the 20 to 60 cd/m^2 range.

Version 1.15: New click release algorithm for “GX Speed Mode” and “GX Safe Mode” Performance optimizations Fixed: Motion Sync software readout showing as on with 8000Hz polling rate Fixed: keyboard key mapping not working as intended

GX Speed mode is now highly recommended and stable, make sure to test with GX Speed Mode due to latch click detection, making input physically faster by sending input when NC (Normally Closed) is released instead of using NO (Normally Open).
Hey Dylan, a brand new firmware + the XM1R software are both available on Endgame Gear discord. They reworked a couple of click detection features so it would be great if you could latency test again if you plan to pick up the xm1r to review the software.
Ok Adam, thank you a lot, I’m looking forward to it :)
Hi axaro1, Thanks for the support! It looks like we tested it with 1.7.230! if you have any other questions, let me know! :)
Thank you for the info Dylan,
Is there any chance you guys can test 1.7.237(or 1.7.238)?
Aside from 237 and 238 forcing respectively 1 and 2mm LOD (due to no software control) the debounce algorithm has been reworked according to Endgame Gear and I’m wondering if it affected click latency.
Both firmwares are currently downloadable from Endgame Gear official discord.
AMA High is much better than AMA Off and it’s perfectly usable, you can watch the motion blur photos to see it yourself.
Sadly they used AMA Off to test the BFI mode (which you can tell by looking at how many ghosts you see behind the main one), AMA Off is the only overdrive producing 2 afterimages behind the main one in my 4k60fps motion pursuit tests, AMA High produces just 1 afterimage which is invisible in some specific transitions and barely visible in some others due to some faint overshoot.
These are my pictures with Dyac+ Premium and: AMA OFF: https://i.imgur.com/40V1qVq.jpg AMA Premium: https://i.imgur.com/0cD7zpE.jpg
The difference is massive, RTings truly hates any form of overshoot but in some cases if the alternative is 2.7x slower G2G instead of a 1 pixel wide overshoot line I’d always pick the latter.
If it’s hidden in the factory menu, there’s probably a reason why.
Give it a try, it’s so much better than OD60 at both 240 and 280hz, it’s similar to OD80 in terms of motion clarity but with much less overshoot. I made a thread on blurbusters :https://forums.blurbusters.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7414 on how to enable OD120.
