Are general settings, white point balance, and color space only for SDR?

Should I leave the values under General Settings, White Point Balance, and Color Space default when viewing HDR content? Are they only settings we change for SDR?

Sorry for any confusion. The differences between them are extremely minor, and could very well be attributed to panel variance. The pre-calibration difference are likely due to firmware changes, but we donโ€™t know for sure. There may be some minor differences between them, but we still feel that the differences are largely cosmetic.

hmm. i notice you also said this about the s425 โ€œ The TV uses PWM to dim the backlight, but only below 17/100 backlight setting. Backlight PWM dimming results in a 120Hz flicker which might bother some people. This is a very different behavior than the TCL S405, which used PWM dimming throughout the entire range of its backlight levels. โ€

that sounds like another major difference ?

In theory, it could be, but a backlight setting of 17 is extremely dim, so in real usage nobody will ever notice this.
