A80L, PS5, Vizio soundbar

Had a 900e Sony TV, sounded great at about level 20 with the M51a-H6 soundbar. Got a new A80L and something is confusing with the sound.

I have the PS5 HDMI going into the soundbar, and HDMI from the Vizio connected to the eArc of the TV, just like with my old TV. The soundbar is in eArc mode and sounds pretty weak, not punchy even at very high volumes. The TV speakers sound noticeably better.

When I switch the sound bar mode to HDMI IN, then back to eArc, the sound from the PS5 becomes punchy and sounds great like the TV speakers and how the soundbar sounded with my previous TV. In this mode the volume stays at the same level no matter how high or low I put it, but it does mute. If I push the PlayStation button on the controller, the soundbar goes into HDMI IN mode and back to weak sound. Rinse/repeat.

Anyone have an idea where to start?
