LG C4 42" in search of the Optimal Settings for PC gaming

Hi. Thanks for your great work.

I hope you can help me with the optimal settings when connecting my LG C4 42” to a PC with an NVIDIA VGA for normal use and mainly for gaming of all kinds in SDR mode.

  • Should I activate G-Sync Compatible and AMD Free Sync Premium or just one of the two as I have an NVIDIA VGA?

  • Which gamma level is the most suitable for all types of games in general; 2.2, 2.4 or BT1886?

  • I understand that “game mode” is optimal. This mode sets the color depth to 55 and the color temperature is set to 0 by default. As I understand the first one (55) is ok but the second one should be set to 50 warm. Is that correct?

  • On the HDMI input I have 4K selected, should I also select 4:4:4:4? In the NVIDIA control panel I have selected 32bits, 12bpc, Full range and RGB. Considering I use the PC mainly for gaming, are these settings correct, or should I switch to 4:4:4:4 on the TV and in the Control Panel?

  • In “game optimizer panel” the default value for “adjust dark areas” is 0, is there any other recommended value, should it be left at 0 and adjust the brightness in games that allow it?

  • Are the default values; “black and white stabilizer” at 10, and “game black level” at 50 generally adequate?

  • I have selected a 1080p@120Hz resolution and in the NVIDIA control panel I have selected integer scaling for being a multiple of 4K, is this the right thing to do, should I adjust the sharpness of the game from 0 to another value in the game optimizer when scaling the image or if I increase the value it would worsen the image?

  • I have selected the aspect ratio in original and the color range in native. I guess it is the most appropriate.

Sorry for asking so many questions, but there are many settings to consider in the quest to get the best result. Any other suggestions or additional adjustments would be very welcome if needed.

Thank you very much for your invaluable help!!!
