Ok so… there’s definitely a fan. It’s even possible to feel the wind blowing from the top vent. There’s no room for doubt. I’m not sure how rtings could have missed it.

The test I ran the VESA DisplayHDR Test app (test number 3a - white screen for 30 minutes) and could measure 45 dbA with the meter (using dbMeter Pro on an iPhone 13) directly above the top right vent of the monitor (apparently the loudest part). The floor level in my office is at 37 dbA.

The sound It’s a low pitch hum that is not annoying and I could not hear it from my sitting position. Actually, as soon as the meter is in front of the screen it goes back to the floor level (37 dbA). My office is not very quiet because of my computer fans and air conditioner and this has to be taken into account when analyzing my results.

Other factors I think I could hear coil whine when putting my ear next to the top vent at some point but it went away by itself so I can’t confirm that. Again, could not hear from my chair.

It would be nice to know from people who complain about the any kind of noise what are their floor noise levels so we can try to understand if it has to do with how silent their environment is and other people could use this information before buying.

tldr: There is a fan but even after 30 minutes of fully white screen it hums at 45 dbA and I could not hear it from my sitting position (noise floor level at 37 dbA)
