I’m seeing a lot of variation in the numbers here across what different websites are reporting. On the review for the 43 inch PC monitor version of this TV, it says that the PWM flicker rate matches the refresh rate with VRR off, but with VRR on it goes all the way up to 960hz. Does that mean in my case it would be flickering at 60hz? I have the 65 inch but I’m not sure if it’s the same. Why is there such a huge variation in flicker rate between different modes and settings? I figured by now manufacturers would be aware of the issues some people have with PWM and eye strain, and would try to have it cranked up all the time.
Small mistake in the text clarity section as the “cleartype on” image is linked twice for IPS, RGB from the looks of it.
While lack of proper Clear Type implementation impacts OLEDs, another contributing factor towards fringing and text quality is amount of black “dead space” around individual sub pixels.
