I have owned a 65" LG QNED85 for several months now, so I have been eager to see RTINGS’ review. I am pleased that the detailed tests back up my subjective impressions. The QNED85 is an excellent mini-LED choice, especially if you need wide angle viewing.
I have a large bright room, and I do get together with friends to watch sports. Football and basketball look great for everyone in the room; I am looking forward to baseball. Dim room 4K DolbyVision movies on Disney+ or HBO Max look amazing too. Even standard YouTubeTV looks crisp.
I am running a 3.1 Samsung soundbar via eARC; it connected without any issues. Gaming is good too, as we have our Switch connected. Wire management is thoughtful with the clips and channels in the feet that keep the back of the TV tidy.
Now, while your reviews usually do not go heavy into price, it was a consideration for me. My comparative group was the Samsung QN85B and the Sony X95K. The QNED85 was $600 less than the QN85B and $900 less than the Sony. You can get a very nice soundbar with your TV for that.
In all, I am very pleased with the QNED85 and recommend it should you need Mini-LED and wide viewing angle.
