Heard of the peak brightness is over 4000nits?
So this is an important one to review first because it’s the same panel for Panasonic, Somy and I think even the Samsung 83 inch flagship. Super interested to test color to see if it can match QD-OLED. The g4 was not reviewed until April- please tell me you will get this in early March:)

Our goal usually to buy it as soon as it’s available for purchase. So if it’s available in March, we’ll buy it then!
Hoping you can check for the same center vertical line that has plagued the g4, as seen using test videos in the first post of this thread: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/lg-g4-brightness-shadow-issue-affecting-83-panels-possibly-other-sizes-please-test.3302465/
Hoping this new model has corrected this defect as it’s driven me crazy this past year on my G4, with no real acknowledgement by LG or anyone else of what causes it, and if it’s correctable.

Unfortunately, as this issue is mostly present on the 83" units it’s unlikely we’ll be able to comment on it this year, as we’ll most likely be buying the 65" model. We’ll still check for it, of course, but whatever we find likely wouldn’t indicate if it’s an issue or not on the 83" sizes.
This product has been merged with LG G5 OLED. Follow the discussion here.
With the G5 released- any ETA on obtaining a panel for review?
I see some consumers are getting there g5 now? Any ETA on when you will be buying one? Or getting one?
I love your in-depth reviews, I always check your reviews before buying a TV.
We’ve purchased the product and are waiting for it to arrive in our lab.
Finally the beast is here. I hope the test is done quickly
My lg cx died. Idk if I want to get the C4 something cheap Or get g5 if it true generational upgrade.
The AVForums review states that tandem OLED displays like the LG G5 frequently exhibit posterisation and gradational issues in some content. As a result, they gave the G5 a lower rating than A95L. Please verify whether AVForums might be suspected of exaggerating minor issues to generate hype or there is a really serious production issue.

Wait til the review on here and compare? If everyone starts to say the same, it is likely to be true, right?
There’s a rumor that LG G5/C5 don’t have DTS support: https://www.reddit.com/r/LGOLED/comments/1jltd3i/lg_removes_dts_from_g5_and_c5/

Please cover how SDR gaming specifically performs on this T.V. with brightness. I had the LG C2 and the SDR was so dim in gaming, it was unplayable to me.
Would really love to see how this tv compares to the new Samsung s95f and the bravia ii 8! Really need to see who has the best color and overall brightness.
Would love to see some data/comparison regarding the color brightness, not only whites.
I purchased the G5 TV and received an email saying that mine will be delivered on 5/28

My guess is RTINGS ordered the 55 or 65 inch G5 which wont be in stock of a month or so.
G5 beats s95f in the last comparison

Theres way more comments on this tread compared to the S95F so far… but im just here to see the competition lol. S95F is what i got my eyes on, as long as they took care of that thermal throttle issue at the 10% window. The brightness on this G5 is insane though! Ready to see them side by side.
The product has arrived in our lab, and our testers will start evaluating it soon.
CAN"T WAIT! front of the line per voting mechanism please!
My 65" G5 is scheduled to arrive tomorrow! I’m going from a C9 to this, so I’m expecting a decent jump in brightness.
Our testers have started testing this product; is there anything specific you’re looking to see? Let us know in this thread.
When I watched the comparison between the g5 and the s95f in real content it seems that the g5 has better colors I hope you focus on this thing
May you compare g5 cinema home mode dtm on vs s95f movie mode dtm / active i want to see which tv is brighter
this is the new tandem OLED technology, right? do we have any sense of the sub-pixel layout?
I heard there are some firmware updates that solve many problems encountered in the early reviews, especially the ones regarding post processing on compressed streamed content, please check that.
Can you test please tv for dithering artifacts mentioned in this post? https://www.avsforum.com/threads/woled-and-qd-oled-line-pattern-pwm-flickering-dithering-in-dark-content-megathread.3307461/ People eyes are hurting please make a feedback to LG make an ON/OFF switch if its present. At the end of this post there are test videos

It’s actually the first thing we checked, and we can confirm that the issues reported there are present on our unit as well.

We’ve seen the reports of that, too, but we don’t have access to beta firmware. Even if we did, we have a policy of not accepting beta firmware that isn’t available to the general public. Hopefully it’ll be out before we finish our review so we’ll be able to retest things before posting the finished review. I heard end of April as a tentative release date so if that’s the case we should be okay. If the firmware comes out after our review, we’ll go back and retest it.
