At $250, this was a win for me on Black Friday.
- It runs Android 9, and has already had one firmware update, which resolved problems I was having turning on HDMI 2.0 enhanced. I doubt that it will see an upgrade to Android 10 though.
- The 65" model definitely has 2 leg positions unlike the 55" you reviewed. I donโt find it to be terribly wobbly with the legs in the widest position.
- I have noticed the interface lag mentioned, with an occasional freeze. Like most Android devices, it seems to need the occasional reboot. Itโs also worth going to the Google Play store and looking for app updates, as they do not always appear to automatically update.
- Up until recently, my Roku Ultra did not support HBOMax, so having the Android app available directly on the TV was a big plus. The YouTube app mostly works well, with an occasional picture freeze. The Facebook watch app not so much; it appears to have severe problems with higher resolution content, and never starts the video. Most of the other streaming apps appear to work well.
- It took some doing to get the HDMI-CEC working with my older Pioneer receiver; a receiver upgrade is probably overdue.
- In your calibration settings under Dolby Vision, you refer to the H9G model, rather than this one. Hopefully only a cut and paste slip up.
- All in all, thrilled with this model at the $250 price point. At $500, it would have been a tougher decision vs. the TCLs.
