Skin Tones - Highlights and shadows

I bought a 65U6G 2 weeks ago and I’ve tried every setting to get proper skin tone colors and shadows/highlights. I started with the Rtings settings (excluding white balance and gamma), and even did a calibration of the gray scale using a colorimeter on both 2pt and 10pt). Skin tones still look blotchy and shadow details are non-existent at the same time highlights are sometimes overblown. I’ve watched the exact same content on multiple other TV’s and all are much better than the Hisense (Insignia and Samsung tested). I also had a strong burning smell when I first turned on the TV that has gone away over time.

Do I try another Hisense replacement or just buy something else? To me it seems like an issue with image processing. I don’t know if this is inherent to the Hisense or a defective unit.
