Update: Due to a retest, we confirmed that the soundbar can do 4k at 120Hz and 1080p at 120Hz. Subsequently, we’ve updated the text and score in the Video Passthrough to TV section.
You are right. RTINGS is slowly loosing credibility with poor testing being done.
Hi Encode_GR,
Thanks for your comment bringing this back to our attention. We’re going to retest this to validate the compatibility. We’ll update the review with our new results after we retest on our unit.
The Q600C can definitely pass through 4K HDR10 at 120hz very well. I don’t understand why you say it’s not supported. Picture and sound are great and it’s definitely 120hz. And eArc is HDMI 2.1 anyway. Also you said the audio sync is not good between TV and the HDMI in. It’s perfect on my TV and 4K Blu-ray player. I have one cable going to the TV and use the other cable going to the 4K player and the audio sync is perfect.

Hi Cliff,
We hear you’re confusion for sure, and we’ll do what we can to try and find clarification. At this time though, we agree, it’s a bit unclear. We’ve reached out to Samsung to try and get confirmation, and we’ll update our review if/when we get a response. We just wouldn’t want to further speculate as we wouldn’t want to risk providing incorrect information. The concern with representatives from customer support, is we’ve seen some misleading information come from those channels in the past (not always, but enough to leave some uncertainty). Sorry about that!
Thanks for that. I’m still in the market for a Samsung Soundbar but I’ve decided to wait until Fall/Holiday sales. Any additional info you guys can find would be helpful. Agree in that I found my Samsung Rep a bit sketchy and unclear with answers.
Glad you guys are here. You really informed my recent TV and 4k player purchase. This stuff gets complicated and I’ve found the most useful info right here at RTINGS.
I am very confused by this review. I have just been in contact with Samsung and they absolutely deny that the HW-Q60CC is the same as the HW-Q600C. They adamantly claim that the HW-Q60CC is a SKU used by other sellers such as Costco and Amazon and that it is, in fact, a HW-Q60C equivalent and NOT a HW-600C equivalent.
Near identical pricing between the HW-Q60C and the HW-Q60CC (around $300ish) further support this particularly when compared to the pricing of the HW-Q600C (around $400ish).
There is a considerable difference in Speaker Max Output Power between the HW-Q60CC and the HW-Q600C and the HW-Q600C has two up-firing speakers (3.1.2) while the HW-Q60CC downmixes to stereo (3.1). ALL of this is confirmed with a Samsung Rep.
So what gives? I’m confused.

Update: We’ve updated the Sound Enhancement Features box to add a mention of the Samsung HW-S60D.
